That's my gorgeous family!
I'm here to help busy families
Feeding your children isn't always easy. Nutrition messages are confusing and mealtimes can be a battleground. You are a busy family, you struggle to find the time to cook, and even when you do prepare a great meal for the family, they don't always eat it. Don't worry, my friend, you are not alone. I promise you it doesn't have to be this way and I am here to help you.
HI, I am Dr Jennifer Cohen, a paediatric nutritionist, dietitan, foodie and mum to 2 gorgeous young boys. My passion is to help busy families, like you, to feel less stressed at mealtimes and to help you to give your children the best start in life.
I have been providing advice to families about children's nutrition for almost 15 years. Since becoming a mum I know first hand, how stressful feeding your child can be. I started this business to take what I know about kid's nutrition and serve it to you in "bite-sized" pieces.
I can help turn mealtimes from this..................................................into this!
Through my blogs and online programs, I give busy families practical help and guidance on kid's nutrition so they can have happy, healthy children and stress free mealtimes.

More about my story
I have been working as the dietitian at the Kids Cancer Centre, at Sydney Children's Hospital for the past 12 years. The strength and courage I see from the children and families I get to work with is amazing. I am able to help the children undergoing intensive cancer therapy to maintain a good nutritional intake to help them to get them through their treatment.
The amazing place I get to work
I have also been very fortunate to be able to do research while in this position and finished my PhD at the end of 2015. My PhD focused on the nutrition of survivors of childhood cancer early after treatment is finished. Our fabulous research group has recently gotten funding to develop a program called Reboot which is hoping to help survivors of childhood cancer improve their eating habits.
During my time working as a pediatric dietitian, I have also been fortunate to improve child health and nutrition in the community. I had been seeing parents and families in a clinic setting and have helped numerous families to improve their kid's nutrition. Since becoming a mum and seeing first hand how difficult it can be to provide healthy food for your children ....and to get them to eat it, I realised that I could help more families than what I could in the clinic setting.
The Dr Jennifer Cohen Blog was born....
I have spent many hours on "mummy" facebook pages for the past 4 years, since my son was born. These pages have provided me with constant support, information and helped with my sanity during those all night feeding sessions with a newborn bub! I also see lots of parents asking questions about their kids nutrition. These questions ranged from when to start solids, what are the best snacks, how do I get my child to eat and what do I pack in my child's lunchbox?
I realised that parents are still confused and overwhelmed by the nutrition information out there. As a busy working mum, I also know that parents have very little time to search the internet for the answer to their nutrition questions. This is the reason for starting this blog. I want to give busy families "bite sized pieces of nutrition information" to help them to make the best choices for their family. I also want to reach more families than I was able to when seeing them one-on-one in a clinic. My "bite sized" nutrition information will come in blogs and videos and I promise to make them as short as possible!
